Camp Moms
What is it like to come to Camp Arrowhead and stay as a camp mom for the week?
The camp is divided into camp cabins and lodges. We are grouping the cabins together by unit called quads. Each quad will have a cabin near them full of their camp moms for the week. They work together to care for the ladies in their quad that week.
*Camp moms are registered members of AHG.
What will I do at camp?
You will do multiple things. One thing is making sure the girls are up and have everything they need for an awesome day at camp!
You will oversee their capers which are camp chores like cleaning their quad bathroom. You will make sure your quad gets to breakfast and opening assembly on time and are there for them.
Camp Moms also supervise evening showers and comfort-tired girls at bedtime.
During the day, everyone at camp has their own schedule to follow. Girls will be heading out to their Badge Workshops. Canteen, Cabin(rest) Time, and Swimming at the pool.
All the camp moms supervise these activities, according to their own individual schedules.
Some other ways you will serve during camp are as follows:
Planning for and helping to lead a badge workshop (usually 2 sessions sometimes 3 since we have tenderhearts) You will receive a badge workshop assignment including contact info for your partner and budget info for acquiring supplies in late March.
Working with other moms to help supervise girls during cabin time and in the Quad (Cabin Mom).
Being generally aware and present in all activities to ensure safety and Godly behavior, especially when assigned to swim eyes, or Canteen helper.
To sum it up, you will be serving the girls in many, different ways, according to your schedule you'll receive when you get to camp. In addition, you will receive a notebook with in-depth job description, helpful tips, and our camp guidelines and rules.
